A Red Thread Circle is an empowerment circle – an intentional container which fosters insight, understanding and healing. This gathering is specifically curated for survivors of domestic violence to provide a safe space to be witnessed and experience belonging in community.
In the simplest terms a Red Thread Circle is a gathering of people who come together to explore a particular theme. A ball of red yarn is passed around the circle along with an inquiry and each participant has the opportunity to share.
What to Expect
An empowering 60-90 minute experience featuring poetry, music, guided inquiries and more in a well-held container where you can feel safe to open up. No preparation needed – just bring yourself and an open heart.
This is not trauma sharing. We won’t be telling our stories of abuse – there is a place for that, and it isn’t here. Instead, this is about celebrating who we have become as a result of our experiences. It’s about honoring our courage, resilience, and who we became in the overcoming.
The focus: Who do you want to be now? As survivors, our experience with abuse has shaped us in many ways. This Red Thread Circle is a way to identify those ways and choose who we want to be now. Are there ways you show up in your life or the world that you don’t want to be anymore? Maybe you’ve been afraid to speak your truth, or take up space, or…
The opportunity: To look at those ways of being and choose which ones you want to let go of and which ones you want to claim. Who do you want to be now – informed by your experience?
Welcome to all survivors, no matter where you are on your journey – whether it’s still very fresh or if you have been healing and doing the work for many years.
Possible outcomes: Connection, belonging, release of old ways of being, and clarity around the new way of being you’re calling into your life.
